May 4 - 6 Paris Ok I am behind. I have tons of pictures to add but the whirlwind of travel has put
be behind. Should have it all caught up tomorrow... so stay tuned.. also today May 8 we are
goind to Kirdford! WAHOO!
May 3 - Hogwarts - oops I mean Oxford – My cousin lives in Oxford so we decided to take a
slack day and look around his home town. And every corner is this gothic monster of a
building. Gargoyles and cathedral spires, cobble stone streets and grassy lawns. I have to say
Oxford was much more beautiful than London ever thought about being! We went to the Oxford
Museum of Natural history. (Bit of a history quiz.. Where was the first dinosaur bones ever
found.. or at least recorded? )
The colleges and cathedrals were really awe inspiring.
Keble College Chapel Christ Church College St Mary Magdalen
I am so glad that we went to London first as I would have really thought it was plain in contrast
to Oxford! See for yourself.
Quiz answer- Oxfordshire England
May 2 - London - Well the jetlag is not so bad. We were up at 7 am and off to the British Museum.
The train system in England is GREAT. And the underground is the only way to travel around
the town. Ok, ever since I was a little kid, I always wanted to go to Egypt. Every documentary
that I would watch would talk of the British Museum and all the great things there. And BOY
was there great things! The Rosetta Stone, the actual Parthenon sculptures, gigantic Egyptian
statues and Mummies. Treasures of ancient Iraq, Iran, Mesopotamia, Greek, Roman, early
Brittan artifacts and so many things I looked until my feet gave out!

After the museum we had a traditional early dinner of Roasted chicken and Lamb in Russell
Park. So far no fish and chips… but there is always tomorrow!
And the Weather has been Great. Every time it rains we were inside or on the Underground.
Quite the luck really! (Quick Quiz - Where is there a full size exact replica of the Parthenon?
Greece? No.. Rome?.. No... would you believe Nashville Tennessee? Well it is! you need to visit
it some time) Not that the real ones in the Museum weren't great.. but hey a Tennessee girl has
to brag about something! LOL
May 1 London Calling- We got up about 8am (which was not too bad) but we didn't get going till
around 10:30. But we were out the door and on our way to London, Caught the bus to the train
station in Oxford and arrived in Paddington Station around 11:30. Of course we were lost! But
found the London Underground pretty quick. On to the Bakerloo line to Piccadilly circus. We
needed to pick up our heritage pass and how confusing, the streets are narrow and crowded
with people and traffic. But it was beautiful!
Checking the time, we decided that riding the London Eye and kicking around the Thames
would be the thing to do. So we headed back to the Underground and was at Waterloo station
in no time. The London Eye was really cool, took about 35 Min to go full circle but the view was
amazing. Then we wandered down to The Parliament building and BIG BEN!
My little feet were tired so I dragged my big booty back to the train station and got the 7:51
Express train Back to Oxford... Maybe we will go to the British Museum tomorrow. Guess you
will have to check back and See where we ended up! :)

everyone to tell you about it, but I was nice and spared you the 4am phone call ! HA! My cell
phone didn't work but it got on track quickly. We met up with Ian and we were off on the train to
Oxford. Lovely House in a great neighborhood. We had an early dinner talked for a few minutes
and then went to SLEEP! Ha!
